Protect the external appearance of your products with designs
As a patent attorney, I advise you on design law and guide you from the initial idea to the defense of your design rights. I conduct design searches to check whether the design you have developed can be registered. I also handle the drafting of the design application and file it with the appropriate office. Depending on your business field, I work with you to develop a registration strategy that best suits your needs. The design application can be filed, for example, with the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), or offices in Switzerland or Benelux. My services also include monitoring the application process and representing your interests before design offices.
Even after the design registration, I will continue to assist you. I provide advice and representation in defending your design against oppositions and cancellation requests, as well as in enforcing your rights arising from the design in infringement proceedings.
Before launching your products, I conduct a freedom-to-operate analysis to minimize the risk of unintentional design infringement. My service offerings also include monitoring designs and design applications of your competitors, conducting legal status inquiries both domestically and abroad, and providing opinions on the validity of designs. For problematic designs of competitors, I prepare infringement opinions or assist you with oppositions or cancellation requests against such designs.
