Handled by a German patent attorney

Your German patent attorney practice for IP representation across Europe. We represent your clients before the DPMA, EUIPO, European Patent Office (EPO), Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP), Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), UKIPO and Unified Patent Court (UPC). From new filings to ongoing matters, we act on your instructions and keep your firm informed with clear reports.

Communication in your preferred language

We write to your firm in German or English, as you prefer. If you would like correspondence in another language, we provide our message in English, or German if requested, together with a translation into your preferred language. We always forward official communications in their original language. Where a translation is needed, we also provide it in the language requested by your firm. This may differ from the language used for our correspondence. For firms corresponding with us in German, we translate foreign-language official communications on request. You can set these preferences once for your firm and request different arrangements for any individual matter. The language of our correspondence and the language of translations are independent of the application’s procedural language or languages. These translations are included in the applicable service fees. Translation of the goods and services specification is a separate service charged at the stated rate.

How to instruct us.

  1. Contact us

Tell us about your firm and whether you need a new trademark filing or representation for an existing trademark matter.

  2. Receive your invitation

We review your request and arrange portal access for your firm.

  3. Prepare and submit your instructions

Use the portal to instruct new German and EU trademark filings or to appoint us as representative before the DPMA or EUIPO. Enter the matter details, provide your instructions and review the fees. An agreed API integration can also submit instructions directly or create a draft for review in the portal. This connects your firm’s software to our services, reducing duplicate data entry and administrative work.

  4. Receive reports and documents

Receive reports on the work instructed, official communications and relevant documents by email. For firms handling larger volumes, we can also arrange API notifications and document delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the service for?

The service is designed for international IP firms and professional representatives instructing new trademark applications or the takeover of representation for their clients’ existing trademark matters.

What does the €150 fee for a new trademark filing include?

The professional fee covers filing, payment handling for official fees, a filing report and a registration report with the certificate after registration. Official fees and separately charged services are additional. View the full scope for the relevant service:

What does the takeover of representation include?

The takeover covers review of the supplied documents, current office communication and deadlines, appointment or replacement of the representative, a submission report and checking that the appointment has been recorded. The appointment needed to resolve an objection about missing representation is included. Responses to other objections and further work are charged separately. See the fees and scope for the relevant office:

How do I receive filing receipts and certificates?

Filing receipts, reports and certificates are sent by email. For larger filing volumes, we can also arrange API notifications and document delivery to your systems.

What happens if the office raises an objection?

We forward the original official communication and provide a translation where required under your firm’s language preferences. For a communication setting a deadline, the €45 handling fee covers this service together with recording and monitoring the deadline. For an office objection, it also includes a brief initial assessment and an estimate for further work. Your firm can supply a completed response for us to file for €85. This service does not include drafting, reviewing or substantively amending the response. Alternatively, you can separately instruct us to analyse the objection, review your draft or prepare a response. Additional work requires a separate agreement and is billed at the agreed hourly rate in six-minute increments, with each started increment charged in full, unless otherwise agreed.
